MOSCOW, Jan 17 (PRIME) – Association of ferrous metals producers Russian Steel has complained about transshipment tariff growth in Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (NCSP) by 8–65% from January 1 to the Federal Antimonopoly Service, business daily Vedomosti reported on Tuesday citing a letter by Executive Director Alexei Sentyurin.
According to the union, the tariff rise "does not correspond to the economic situation and creates additional barriers for exports of highly marginal products that are already under the sanctions restrictions by the unfriendly states," the statement read.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service does not regulate tariffs of the sea port terminals but monitors them. Vedomosti said earlier that the stevedore companies asked the antitrust to allow them not to publish the tariff and fee information and to suspend the law on state entities' procurements from natural monopolies, including the ports. Cargo consignors opposed the measure.
